Trenary Home Bakery was founded in 1928, and has been a big part of Upper Michigan's culture for over 90 years. To honor the history of the bakery and those who love it, we are starting a blog series that will explore the history of the bakery.
This will series will encompass a wide variety of subjects related to the bakery, including equipment used, recipes, employees, stories from customers, etc..
We need you to share your stories, photos, and memories of the bakery with us! Please let us know what you are interested in learning about. All suggestions are appreciated.

I grew up dunking Trenary Toast with peanut butter in a cup of tea with milk and sugar. Now I dunk my Trenary Toast with peanut butter in a cup of black coffee. I am looking forward to your series.

My mother was Evelyn Latvala who grew up on the Latvala dairy farm in Ternary. She married my father Russell Druckenmiller who grew up in Diffin. They are both buried in the Trenary cemetery. I loved eating Trenary toast and limpoo (not sure of the spelling). I’m 65 and live in Alabama now and don’t get it very often.
My mother used to make us Milk Toast for breakfast when we were little kids. Best breakfast ever. Have Trenary Toast in my cupboard all the time,,,,and I’m 75 , so I’ve ate lots of it over my lifetime
I have been eating Trenary Toast for over 60 years! We were raised it! I raised my sons on it’s, too! And now my oldest son is rasing his children on it. But I have to send it to them, they live in another state. It’s a family tradition!
